Faculty Advisor Dr. Edna Magpantay-Monroe
Dr. Edna Magpantay-Monroe is an Associate Professor of Chaminade University of Honolulu School of Nursing. She was a co-school adviser for the Student Nurses Club/Association from 2011-2013. In Spring 2012, Chaminade’s Student Nurses Club had the election of their first set of officers and recruited membership. She accompanied the first group of Chaminade SNC/A students to their first NSNA annual convention in North Carolina. Dr. Monroe and a select group of Chaminade SNA members rally the schools in Hawaii to rejuvenate the State Association where Dr. Monroe currently serve as a co-faculty Consultant. She is a Sustaining Member of NSNA since 2013. Dr. Monroe received the Club Adviser award from Chaminade University in April 2013.
Dr. Monroe received her BS in Nursing from University of Illinois at Chicago, her MS in Primary Care Adult Nurse Practitioner from University of Maryland Baltimore and her Ed.D. Educational Leadership from University of Phoenix. She has been a registered nurse for 27 years. She has memberships in several professional organizations: NLN, APNA, HPGS, WLHE, AAPINA, Sigma Theta Tau and Beta Nu Delta. Her broad research interests are student centered learning, use of self, and English as a second language learner needs.
